Wednesday 16th December 28 members of Mundesley WI received Christmas Goody bags.
Members of our committee had been very busy over the past few weeks crafting and sourcing items to put in the bags.
Carol Spencer made some beautiful snowflake tree decorations, festive beaded keyrings, put together a Christmas carol Quiz and supplied sachets of Cadburys hot chocolate.
Angela Smith purchased a huge variety of packets of flower seeds which she then added to pretty hand decorated envelopes with planting instructions.
Kim Salmon bought beautiful voile drawstring bags, filled them with chocolates and decorated them with a posy of pine cones, bells and greenery all ready to hang on the Christmas tree. Kim also printed out adult seasonal colouring sheets, added puzzle books and supplied the battery operated tealights which were placed inside Hazel Steeples intricately hand cut tree lanterns.
Hazel also made some pretty gold leaf tree decorations and supplied the Christmas pencils.
Shirley sewed pretty, felt heart, tree decorations with a distinctive holly motif and supplied useful notebooks.
Heather made hand sewn cotton bags filled with organic lavender. She also added a 58th edition of the Bethlehem Carol Sheet, reminiscent of the ones she had received as a child from her Grandmother every Christmas. The white carrier bags were decorated with scans of original 1950’s Christmas Cards that formed a collection Heather’s Grandmother had kept in a drawer.
There was a Christmas cracker added to the mix and a raffle ticket with a prize of fruit and veg hamper supplied by Country Pickings of Mundesley.
